It can certainly be a tricky realm. Full of dry and oddly textured results. I mean baking, in general, can be a stressful experience for many people. There are so many things that can go wrong!
That’s why I am always hunting for new baking recipes that are quick, easy and delicious. Add in the recipe being Gluten-free… I’m in heaven.
So rest assured because these gluten-free caramel apple scones check all of those boxes and more!
So how do you whip up these quick and easy scones?
How to Whip up Gluten-Free Caramel Apple Scones

What You’ll Need:
- 1 Honeycrisp Apple
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp Allspice
- 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 box Gluten-Free Scone Mix
- 1 cup Cool Water
- 3 Tbsp Vegetable Oil

Aside from your ingredients, here are some tools that you will need to make the backing process even easier.
- Silpat Non-stick Baking Mat – I love this mat because it helps the scones slide right off the baking sheets.
- Ice Cream Scoop– An ice cream scoop with the release button is so useful for creating equally sized and perfectly rounded scones.
The Shortcut to Quick and Easy Gluten-Free Scones

Some people might snub their noses at using a box mix. But, I say if it saves you time and tastes delicious then why not?!
Box mixes are a great base if you are looking to experiment with different flavors. Especially if you are trying to explore the gluten-free world.
For these Caramel Apple scones, I used Sticky Finger Gluten-Free Scone Mix from my local Safeway Store.
But, I am listing a few more options below that you can grab from Amazon. As well as one regular scone mix option!
Another Delicious Shortcut

Using these already unwrapped Caramel bits for little bites of sweetness in the scones makes life so easy. Plus, when you melt them down with a little cream and water you have a ready to go glaze.

Gluten-Free Caramel Apple Scones
Ingredients
- 1 Honeycrisp Apple
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp Allspice
- 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 Box Gluten-Free Scone Mix, 14 oz
- 1 cup Cool Water
- 3 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- Salted Caramel Glaze *optional
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375
-
Mix the first five ingredients in a bowl. Tossing to coat the apple in the spiced sugar mix.

Combine the scone mix with water and oil in a large bowl.

Fold in the spiced apples and caramel bits.

Use an ice cream scoop to scoop 9 scones onto your baking sheet

Bake for 13 minutes
